The Vizio VW42LF comes with support for full High Definition signals at 1080p has a 5000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It has a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees for crisp and clear pictures with a brightness level of 500 cd/m2. The response time is just 6.5 ms to give distortion free images. The LCD TV has a high resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the wide screen is 16:9 in aspect ratio.
It has a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1 or 5000:1 with DCR. It comes with 3 HDMI input sockets, 2 for composite video inputs, 1 computer RGP input port and 1 for connecting S-Video source.
It even has a .1 SPDIF digital optical outlet for giving audio output. A distance of about 9 feet to 11 feet is recommended while viewing. Conversion of low-end video signals is great, with the scaling processor and comb filter of the LCD TV.
The backlight of this LCD TV is very good. You can adjust it depending on the ambiance of your room. The panel is antistatic and has a hard-coated surface. The all black design makes it pretty much stand out and gives it an aesthetic appeal.
There is no negative effect of false color mapping or contouring. You can select from 4 predefined aspect ratios depending on the type of video you are viewing. What is missing is USB slot to view additional multimedia content directly like from a digital camera or a flash drive. You can separately adjust red, green, blue color controls for fine-tuning.
